Floater Legal Assistant - Litigation

JOB DESCRIPTION: FLOATER LEGAL ASSISTANT (LOS ANGELES)

Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP has an opening for a full-time Floater Legal Assistant in our Los Angeles office. This is an on-site position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience and will carry out various administrative assignments and support Attorneys across multiple practices which include litigation, business, appellate, and labor. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and be a team player with a great attitude. They must also be excellent at proofreading, communication and have good general language skills.

Requirements:

Position requires excellent administrative, follow-up, initiative, organizational and calendaring skills. Solid knowledge and experience with federal and state court e-filing rules and procedures. Excellent typing and computer skills needed with specific knowledge of Word 2010 or higher, Outlook, and iManage or similar document management system. Knowledge of CompuLaw and Best Authority a plus.

This position will require support for more than one attorney at any given time. Candidate will be expected to have flexibility to cover various desks/practices throughout the firm; Create and organize pleadings and filings with various courts; Schedule depositions and set up court reporters; Perform general office duties such as typing, scanning, send FedEx packages, operate office machines, etc.; Enter attorneys’ time; expense reports, and assist in various projects as needed.

Salary range for this position: $80K - $88K DOE.
