Surveillance Detection Officer for Weekend Night Shift
The Surveillance Detection Officer (SDO) will be providing the following tasks/duties as per the shift and gate/site assignment. SDO position is under the direct supervision of the site Program Manager and Shift Supervisor/Sargent for assigned shift of the security department and is responsible for surveillance, detection and reporting for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, customers and all visitors.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor, observe and operate CCTV, IDS, ACS, and Emergency alarm systems.
- Listen for any audible or visual alarms and report them immediately to the supervisor and appropriate responder.
- Operates automated access control systems to grant or deny access to visitors and USU personnel.
- Provide LENEL access support to all USU staff and Students (CAC programming into LENEL).
- Provide lock and key administrative support
- Observe and report all emergency and non-emergency calls from employees, law enforcement, security specialists- via telephone, automated alarm monitoring, and radio systems.
- Observe and report any unlawful acts to the appropriate authorities.
- Greets customers in a friendly manner and direct and/or escort guests to designated areas or services.
- Monitor all visitors, guests and staff for ID policy compliance and remind any violators of the policy. If violators fail to correct their action, report the incident with complete details to the supervisor.
- Utilize standard concepts, practices and procedures for handling inquiries and customers' requests to provide proactive and immediate support to customers.
- Contact USU Personnel of visitor’s arrival.
- Utilizing government provided information, personnel shall have working knowledge of all necessary points of contact to problem solve and satisfy the customer expectations.
- Answers SDO desk phone calls.
- Listen for any audible or visual alarms and report them immediately to the supervisor and appropriate responder
- Observe and report any unlawful acts to the appropriate authorities.
- Responsible for reviewing the visitor parking list and granting USU parking access to authorized visitors.
- Observe and report any unlawful acts to the appropriate authorities.
- Greets customers in a friendly manner and direct and/or escort guests to designated areas or services.
- Monitor all visitors, guests and staff for ID policy compliance and remind any violators of the policy. If violators fail to correct their action, report the incident with complete details to the supervisor.
- Provides directions to all USU and AFRRI Visitors
- Provide LENEL access support to all USU staff and Students (CAC programming into LENEL).
- Provide lock and key administrative support.
- Utilize standard concepts, practices and procedures for handling inquiries and customers' requests to provide proactive and immediate support to customers.
- Shall have working knowledge of all necessary points of contact to problem solve and satisfy the customer expectations.
- Assist with opening doors and ensuring properly functioning handicap doors within the assigned area, report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Issues Visitor Badges.
- Listen for any audible or visual alarms and report them immediately to the supervisor and appropriate responder.
- Observe and report any perceived violations to USU physical security policies and regulations.
- Observes parking garage to ensure motor vehicles operators are adhering to USU and NSAB parking and traffic regulations.
- Provides directions and information to visitors that may not be familiar with the Campus.
Rover Tasks:
- Personnel and bags will be searched upon entry and exit of designated CAA spaces.
- Conduct roves throughout AFRRI
- Observe and report any unlawful acts to the appropriate authorities.
- Listen for any audible or visual alarms and report them immediately to the supervisor and appropriate responder
- Ensure proper surveillance of the USU and AFRRI facilities.
- Report physical security violations.
- Conduct required checks on restricted areas and perimeter doors.
- Roves parking area to ensure motor vehicles operators are adhering to USU and NSAB parking and traffic regulations.
- Report and react to Alarms.
- Conduct required AFRRI freezer checks to ensure appropriate temperature levels are displayed on laboratory incubators.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance.
- High School Diploma.
- 5 years of experience in same or similar position.
- Previous military, law enforcement or security background preferred.
