The MAC is a private not-for-profit athletic and social club near downtown Portland, OR. Formed in 1891 by 26 football players, it is a complete club, with first-rate facilities, superb cuisine, and fun social activities. The eight-level main clubhouse overlooks Providence Park Stadium, home of the Portland Timbers, and is within walking distance of downtown Portland. Activities are offered for all club members: young and adult; girls and boys; and women and men. Top-rated instruction and coaching is available in many sports including gymnastics, basketball, swimming, racket sports, and competitive climbing, to name just a few. The clubhouse is also host to a variety of local, regional, and national sporting competitions throughout the year, and has been a venue for international championships on more than one occasion.
The Assistant Tennis Coach is responsible for delivering energetic and developmental tennis programming to both juniors and adults of all abilities. Responsible for assisting the Tennis Manager in directing the club’s tennis program. Teaches lessons, conducts clinics, runs tournaments, helps maintain the quality of the department and any additional responsibilities with which the Tennis Manager needs assistance. Qualifications: at least five years of professional tennis coaching experience at least two of which should be in a private club similar to the MAC, a high level of playing proficiency, preferably college playing experience or 5.0 level, and USPTA-Professional 2 or USPTR certification required.
