About the Role
Mountain West Bank is looking for a talented and motivated Commercial Lender for our Fairview Financial Center location. The Lender is responsible for originating and managing a portfolio of commercial loans, with the overall objective of growing the portfolio and maintaining asset quality. To develop new and existing business. This individual must be client focused, communicate proficienltly, hold confidentiality in the highest regard and have the technical capacity to work within our systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takes applications for commercial loan business. Reviews customer financial condition and assesses the customer's ability to re-pay the loan. Makes underwriting decisions within approval authority. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.
- Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the company. Calls on clients to expand existing business; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the company's client base.
- Monitors existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base. Maintains up-to-date client files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation.
- May assist in collection of past due loans.
- Assists customers with any loan-related questions and concerns.
- Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control
High school diploma or equivalent.
5-8 years of experience in a financial institution with extensive consumer credit experience.
Basic understanding of credit analysis, loan structuring, collateral analysis, loan pricing and loan management.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to maintain a heavy volume of correspondence, personal contact, and telephone communication.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Ability to multi-task and handle complex tasks efficiently. Strong organizational skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND ABILITY/KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelors Degree
- Jack Henry system knowledge
WORK ENVIRONMENT:Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
Specific lifting abilities required by this job include:Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
