Job Description


  • Oversee and ensure excellence in people, product, and processes across all campus locations
  • Serves as a liaison between the Bishop, Executive Director and children of the church
  • Regularly prays for young people in the church and community
  • Works on alongside Christian Education to Develop, oversee and evaluate the curriculum used for all programs, events and classes that provides relevant biblical lessons/studies to help disciple students across multiple campuses
  • Oversee /develop workshop’s that addresses the entire student life
  • Represents Mt. Zion Children’s Ministry with integrity throughout the community and world
  • Develops a program that encourages the well-being of each child life educationally, financially, spiritually, and emotionally
  • Develop, oversee and evaluate the children’s ministry budget and all expenditures
  • Recruit, train and equip key people to work as children’s ministry leaders across multiple campuses
  • Meet regularly with volunteers for team-building and planning purposes which will require some nights and weekends
  • Plan and coordinate camps, conferences and retreats and trips
  • Attend any ministry or board meetings necessary to carry out the children’s ministries vision of the church
  • Develop and implement programs to effectively transition children from one grade level to the next
  • Coordinate and oversee all auxiliary ministries that relate to youth ages (1-11) (Nursery, Mentoring, Parenting etc...)
  • Communicate program plans with parents through regular mailings and/or parent groups
  • Provides leadership and on-the-job mentoring to assure that all workers are performing their assigned duties in a spirit of excellence. This includes evaluating workers and providing training recommendations to the Executive Director of Family Ministries
  • Resolves problems that may occur during the ministry period that would hinder ministry effectiveness (Ex. Teaching, resolving behavioral conflict, addressing parental concerns)
  • Addresses staffing and development needs with the Registration Supervisor and the Lead Teachers
  • Requests, maintains and distributes all curriculum, supplies and equipment needs for their site
  • Have Monthly Kingdom Kids meeting
  • Have a facilitation plan for each Sunday. However, weekly presence is not required in Kingdom Kids.
  • Submit monthly status report to Executive Director of Family Ministries.


Must display a positive and loving attitude toward children and adults.

Must have positive customer service skills.

Must have effective organizational skills.

Must be in agreement with the teachings and polices of our church.

Must have a servant’s heart and be willing to do what it takes to get the job done
