We are seeking multiple Systems Engineers ready to jump in with our existing R&D team and help drive forward innovative approaches that expand and enhance existing systems and prototypes with a focus on software aspects and integration with hardware. As a member of this team you will apply your dynamic and detail-oriented mindset to our development cycle that combines software, network, and hardware components. This role will support the agile development of innovative communications, networking, and computing solutions for U.S. defense agencies that improve the sharing of information among warfighters distributed throughout airborne, maritime, and ground environments.

What youll do:

  • Design and develop dynamic software based tactical systems focused on network communications
  • Support integration between hardware, software, and network systems
  • Conduct and support test planning and execution
  • Analyze test data, develop test reports, system diagrams, technology briefs and presentation
  • Define subsystem requirements and specifications
  • Conduct research and analysis of system interface documents in order to define, document, and design system connections and architecture
  • Translate customer requirements into subsystem specifications
  • Leverage industry experts to find solutions to complex problems
  • Create, review, and update technical documentation and diagrams
  • Participate in demonstration planning with customers and overarching experiment managers
  • Some travel will be required for hardware installation and/or test support
  • Must be comfortable working on an active flight line

We are looking for:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information System, Engineering, Scientific or related Technical Field from an accredited college and 2 years professional experience or five years equivalent experience
  • Experience with engineering design and development, as well as testing and deployment of complex systems
  • Ability to perform analyses and trade studies to aid in the selection of system components
  • Strong technical network troubleshooting skills with the ability to trace technical issues within multiple systems
  • Experience creating detailed system level interconnect block diagrams utilizing supplier data sheets
  • Experience with U.S. Navy or other armed services warfare programs or systems
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of RF principles, radios, data analysis and data collection
  • Knowledge of Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) or other relevant systems
  • Experience with network technology and protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, TCP/IP, DHCP)
  • Experience with NSA Type 1 KG cryptographic devices
  • Experience with both military and commercial SATCOM system integration and design
  • Experience with multiple tactical data links and waveforms (L-16, TTNT, ANW2, etc.)
  • Experience working with networking, software, or mechanical engineering teams
  • Experience with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guidelines
  • Experience in agile, professional software development environments utilizing revision control, test driven development and continuous integration
