PC LAN Administrator

Job Decription

Under general direction, the PC LAN Administrator ensures continued uninterrupted service through identification and problem resolution in a client/server environment. Designs, implements and troubleshoots PC/LAN systems for multiple locations. Provides integration and consulting services to all internal departments and systems.  Requires strong knowledge of server and desktop processing/operating systems that enables them to work at the highest level of all computer operations phases. Competent to handle complex problems concerning systems operations. Confers with other IT staff in the event errors require a change of instructions or sequence of operations.

Responsibilities 

• Conducts Linux and Windows server administration
• Provides integration and consulting services to all internal departments and systems
• Ensures business continuance plans are update to date as changes/updates are implemented
• Provides level 2/3 support for servers/PCs as required
• May be required to work on call and/or nights and weekends
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge (3-5 years of experience) of Linux Server build and administration required
• Windows Server build and administration required
• VMware virtualization required
• SAN technologies including fabric zoning required
• PowerShell scripting required
• Installation/upgrade/Support of various 3rd party applications required
• Active Directory/Group Policy/Exchange required
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and wide area network required
• Basic knowledge of IBM mainframe and AS/400 operating systems required
• Knowledge of communications concepts and technologies required
• High School diploma or equivalent and five or more years of relevant experience required
