This position is responsible for determining service availability, appropriate fees and applicable billing codes. Collects appropriate fees, including special contracts, rebateable fees and assisting customers with programs. This position will also handle complaints and inquiries from the public related to billings, fees, meter readings, discount programs, account options, violation processes and tests. This position will last until mid November. Shift is Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Determines correct fees, discount programs and rebate payments applicable Generates and coordinates new service installations Analyzes, interprets and applies policies and procedures when dealing with; customers, developers, homeowners, engineers, architects, and department liaisons. Installation, removal, maintenance and or updates to customer equipment (i.e meter boxes, transponders, etc.). Collection of past due accounts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form. Knowledge of policies and procedures of the County department. Ability to operate general office equipment, computers and knowledge of software programs. Knowledge of computer software (MS Excel, Word, Windows NT ). Knowledge of basic mathematics. Depending on assignment, may need the ability to lift I move up to 25 pounds.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSING:
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one year of customer service experience, bookkeeping, accounting, or cash handling. Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record may be required.
