Job Description

Job Summary

The Employee Benefits Account Manager performs duties and responsibilities that support client benefit administration objectives in a professional manner. Utilizing excellent communication skills and extensive industry knowledge, the Account Manager builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, carriers and vendors to obtain positive service outcomes.

               

Essential Functions

  • Ability to accurately assess client needs
  • Clearly and confidently communicate complex issues and concepts
  • Manages varying client service requests such as; carrier billing discrepancies, research and education on carrier benefit administration rules and regulations 
  • Provides insurance coverage education and guidance
  • Coordinates annual open enrollment communication and event planning
  • Manages the placement and cancellation of insurance policies
  • Provides client suitability assessment for benefit administration technology solution
  • Manages client technology implementation and annual review process
  • Maintains and documents client milestones within the agency management system  
  • Attend client meetings with advisor or independently, when requested
  • Engage in educational opportunities that promote professional development
  • Coordinates client education and resources to ensure compliance with federal and state laws 
  • Protects confidential information based on HIPAA and other regulatory privacy laws

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Current Life and Health License (required within three months in position)
  • Minimum of 2 years of similar or related work experience, preferably with an employee benefits or carrier organization
  • Proficient in software applications commonly used in office environments
