Job Description

Mori is seeking a motivated and hardworking Manufacturing Associate to join our Engineering team and be a part of our ground-breaking Pilot Plant. We are looking for a candidate that will contribute meaningfully and become a valued member of the Mori team. This candidate will be critical to the development and implementation of our current production process and all future processes at Mori’s largest scale to date.   • Execute and oversee pilot plant duties including equipment operation, troubleshooting, and preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Ensure proper execution of protein extraction, purification, and drying in Mori’s pilot plant following established SOPs
  • Ensure pilot plant team compliance with all worker safety and food safety and quality procedures
  • Supervise and train manufacturing technicians
  • Be responsible for all plant activities and follow established procedures for troubleshooting issues on shift
  • Identify apt course of action in the event of process deviations or equipment issues
  • Contribute to conception and execution of lab-scale R&D runs and pilot scale tech transfer runs, to inform pilot plant process improvement
  • Draft, revise, and ensure the execution of equipment, process, and plant procedure SOPs
  • Regular communication of results, recommendations for changes, safety hazards and issues to the team
  • Maintain production documentation, analyze and report run data to Engineering team in technical meetings
  • Perform work which is predominantly intellectual in character, and which includes work requiring the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment
  • Follow all plant GMP and food safety procedures
  • Maintain and ensure a clean and safe work envir


Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, or equivalent experience, showcasing lab-based coursework in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or a similar field
  • Experience with basic engineering unit operations – stirred tanks, purification, filtration equipment, and drying a plus
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work well independently or on a team depending on the task
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and team building skills
  • Ability and confidence to lead and direct others
  • Previous experience managing a direct report a plus
  • cGMP compliant process experience in pharma or food a plus
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule with different shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 55lbs with back support and stand for long periods of time


  • Base salary of $67,035.00 plus equity
