We are currently seeking a Federal Budget Consultant to join our team based out of the Washington, DC area with potential sustained remote delivery dependent on COVID19 circumstance.

About the role:

Each position requires:

  • US Citizenship
  • a degree from a US accredited college or university
  • two (2) years of experience working with the Federal Government or Fortune 500 companies
  • five (5) years of total work experience

What you’ll do:

The Federal Budget Consultant will be expected to perform many of the following duties:

  • Support the Navy's effort to remediate audit findings issued by the IPA as it pertains to the Budget.
  • Document as-is business processes
  • Make recommendations for processes that are not working as designed
  • Work directly with the Navy FM client or independently as needed
  • Supporting ad hoc project requests

Our ideal candidate:

  • Education and Experience
  • A degree from an accredited U.S. College or University
  • DoD SECRET clearance or ability to obtain a clearance
  • Proficiency with the web and MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
  • Experience documenting business processes for Defense / Federal entities through narrative and flow charts
  • Experience working with the Department of the Navy
  • Understanding of Navy Budget Processes highly desired

Skills and Abilities

  • Communicates clearly and effectively (oral and written);
  • Interacts comfortably with team and client personnel;
  • Demonstrates self-motivation, excellent time-management, and organizational skills;
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, initiative, and the ability to work well under pressure, can meet tight deadlines, and is committed to complete projects;
  • Understanding of Defense Financial Management, accounting and budget preferable;
  • Experience with Department of Defense Audit Readiness and/or Audit Sustainment activities preferable;
  • Well organized to manage multiple different tasks and activities across different workstreams;
