Service Technician / Machinists

Moody Marine Service, located in Chesapeake, VA, has been providing Quality and Timely Service and Repairs for the marine markets for well over 20 years. Summary:

Position is responsible for service, repair, and testing of various actuated valve assemblies both in our shop and in the field. Shop work includes the repair, inspection, and assembly of automated equipment associated with Navy ships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Troubleshoot, Repair valve / actuator assemblies

•Repair Machinist Experience

•Perform functional testing of actuators

•Performs daily work activities of tear down/rebuild and cleaning of valves, actuators and controllers

•Performs work/inspection processes

•Assures compliance to company QMS

•Report noncompliance issues•Complies with all safety/PPE requirements

Technical Skills:

Experience and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge of valve types and electric actuators, along with basic functions of control systems and how they interface with other systems. Ability to read and follow drawings and perform mechanical assembly. Ability to troubleshoot equipment in a logical manner.

Experience / Education:

Minimum 3 years’ experience repairing Navy Marine Valves, Actuation, and Controls. Repair Experience with Nu-Torque actuators and controls, Morpac valve actuators, Leslie control valves, Eaton Bleed air valves. Machinist experience a plus! High school diploma.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, technical manuals or government work items. Ability to write reports. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.

Work Environment:

Work environment is described as medium to fast paced. Physical Demands The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Employee will be required to regularly walk, sit, reach with arms and stoop, kneel, crouch.
