Responsible directly to the Executive Director of an organization which serves persons with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities for the effective and efficient management, leadership, evaluation, planning, coordination and operation of Training programs for Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled to include Centers and activities in accordance with applicable MARC policies and procedures, contracts and agreements and federal, state and local laws
Plans, establishes goals, coordinates, directs, administers documents, evaluates, and supervises MARC day habilitation functions for Adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
Supervises, directs, motivates, counsels, trains, monitors the qualifications of, evaluates and recommends for hire Day Training Unit staff members
Oversees the safety and security of Day Training Units for persons served with intellectual/developmental disabilities and staff members and of MARC-owned facilities, equipment and property
Approves time, attendance and work schedules
Coordinates, maintains a positive relationship with and serves as a liaison for parents, guardians, care givers, supporters and the general public
Supervises the preparation and implementation of client intakes, evaluations, progress reports and Individual Program Plans.
Supervise client curriculum and task analysis
Coordinates with the MARC Nurse and Behavior Analyst regarding medical, health and behavioral issues
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Serve as a QDDP (Qualified Developmental Disability Professional).
Ability to consistently provide effective, positive leadership and management
Ability to provide advice and recommendation on residential habilitation issues and programs to the Executive Director
Knowledge of local, state and federal resources and ADMH standards
Familiarity with the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities
Ability to build and maintain professional, respected and positive relationships with parents, guardians, Board members, care givers, supporters and the general public
Ability to consistently prepare and write correspondence and reports in a clear, accurate, and professional manner
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in education, public administration, human services or related field (required) Masters Degree (desired)
Supervisory/management experience (required)
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills (required)
Demonstrates administrative ability (decision making, meeting deadlines, planning, directing, etc. (required)
Ability to work a flexible work schedule, to participate in work related activities outside of normal work hours and to respond by telephone or in person to work-related requirements 24 hours a day, seven days a week (required)
Satisfactory police background check and drug screen (required)
Possession of a valid Alabama driver's license and acceptable MVR and access to personal insured vehicle for daily use in work related duties (required)
