As part of its curriculum, the College emphasizes professional skills development in its students. One of the ways this is accomplished is through the services of the Gary K. Bracken Center for Excellence in Undergraduate Business Education.
The Bracken Center is the College's one-stop shop for students seeking resources related to internships, jobs, career mentoring, professional development, and extra-curricular activities such as student clubs, scholarships and study abroad opportunities.
The Program Manager of the Bracken Center oversees the Center's activities and reports to the Dean's office. While the Program Manager is engaged in a wide array of services to students, most of the Program Manager's time is spent managing and growing the College's internship/career mentoring and student professional development services. The Program Manager works closely with the College's students, faculty, staff and administrative team, and the University's Career, Internship & Student Employment Services office.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Developing and managing relationships with alumni, employers, and MSU units to secure high quality internships and job opportunities for business students
+ Managing the College's internship program
+ Developing and executing employer recruiting events for business students
+ Promoting University and College employer recruiting events to business students
+ Advising individual business students on job and internship opportunities
+ Acquiring, maintaining and analyzing data on internship, job and other student outcomes
+ Developing and executing student professional development events
+ Assisting business student organizations with information on funding opportunities, finding guest speakers, networking, member recruitment, publicity, etc.
+ Managing the Center's student support processes including club funding, student professional development support, and study abroad scholarships
+ Participating in the College's student retention efforts
+ Planning and administering the Bracken Center budget
+ Experience in promotions, including website, social media and print.
