Position: Ballast Field Service Technician/Mechanic
Duties: Include everything that encompasses the service, maintenance and trouble-shooting of the ballast dumping system of rail cars.
Basic mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge a plus. Most important is having a great attitude and work ethic, the ability to solve problems, work independently and travel.
Daily preparation of work reports, monthly preparation of mileage and report of expenses.
CDL is preferred, but not required. Insurable driving record, ability to pass background check and random drug tests.
Position could require extensive travel. Thorough on the job training are provided.
Compensation & Benefits: Weekly Salary, Lodging paid and Meal Per Diem. Group Health Insurance, Employer matched 401(k) retirement plan after 1 year. Company provided vehicle for work. Position is Exempt (Salaried). Not eligible for overtime. Rotation schedule to be determined after all training is complete, most common options are 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off or Full Time with 6 weeks of vacation.
