Jr. Digital Engineer Interns positions for Design, Verification, Physical and Mixed-Signal Design.

Job Summary:

A Jr. Digital Engineer Intern assists to and learn from Senior Engineers in the design, verification, modelling, development, integration and physical implementation of digital and mixed-signal ICs utilizing leading edge technologies with industry standard ASIC tools. Products to be designed may include power management, signal management and mixed signal functions.

MPS is looking for just graduated students or a final-year student looking for a thesis or Professional Experience sponsorship.

The essential functions will vary depending on the desired Job Position.

MPS products include: switching regulators, sensors, motor control, display drivers, audio amplifiers and power management ICs for fast-growing portable and non-portable markets such as notebooks, cell phones, telecom, digital camera, automobile and network equipment.

Digital Design Essential Functions:

  • Contributes to the design, development, & verification of digital / mixed-signal IC’s.
  • RTL Digital Design using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog
  • Behavioral modeling, and Digital Verification using standard DV languages (SystemVerilog, UVM).
  • Synthesis and DFT

Digital Verification Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the creation of Digital Verification environments with UVM and SystemVerilog.
  • Write Digital and Mixed-Signal testcases and assertions/checkers.
  • Analyze and debug test results, code coverage and functional coverage.
  • Support on Verification IPs and standard tests, environments, checkers, etc.
  • Assist with Test Plan generation based on design requirements and product datasheets of digital / mixed-signal IC’s.
  • Gate-Level verification

Digital Physical Design Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to the design, development, & physical implementation of digital / mixed-signal IC’s.
  • Development and Review of Synthesis and P&R SDC Constraints.
  • Synthesis, P&R and Logical Equivalent Check Flows.
  • Power and IR Drop Analysis.
  • DFT Implementation and Metrics Analysis.
  • Close collaboration with the CAD and Technology Development Groups.

Mixed-Signal Design Essential Functions:

  • Assist with the creation of Mixed-Signal Verification environments
  • Write Mixed-Signal testcases and assertions/checkers.
  • Analyze and debug test results, code coverage and functional coverage.
  • Assist with Mixed-Signal Test Plan and Modelling Plan generation based on design requirements and product datasheets of digital / mixed-signal IC’s.
  • Analog-Digital Interface Definition and Documentation.
  • Behavioral Modelling of Analog Blocks. Analysis to verify architectural choices and trade-offs
  • Analog and Digital Mixed-Signal Validation, Verification, simulations and debugging.

Common Essential Functions:

  • Documentation
  • Close interaction with Senior Digital Design, Digital Verification and Analog Design Engineers
  • Automation and scripting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/MS in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Digital Design/VLSI coursework.
  • Has the ability to follow instructions/tasks according to design specifications/procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of ASIC development process and digital design techniques.
  • Good written/verbal communication skills and strong team work/collaboration.
  • Knowledge of standard DV languages (SystemVerilog, UVM) and behavioral/RTL coding.
  • Executing tasks that hit project milestone.
  • Knowledge/Experience with the following is a plus:
    1. SCAN and Other DFT Techniques.
    2. Knowledge of power management industry/applications.
    3. I2C, I3C, SPI, USB, PMBUS.
    4. Scripting and automation languages like TCL, Python and C/C++.
