Location: Downtown Chicago
-Manage the day-to-day marketing functions for all consumer products to drive subscription growth, improve retention, and find new revenue opportunities across digital channels.
-Drive email acquisition to build a sustainable email marketing channel and optimize our marketing automation platform to drive revenue growth.
-Ensure social is an integrated piece of the marketing strategy across digital channels by collaborating with other marketing leaders
-Develop and own social ads to drive follower growth + engagement
-Test and expand marketing channels to drive and scale customer growth through affiliate, paid search, social media, Data-driven marketing support efforts, including analytics, marketing database, media acquisition, list rental, and customer insight functions;
-Be a mentor to team members and foster personal and career growth, as well as growth for specific business units.
-Develop and execute the strategy and vision of the leadership team to expand into new product areas to be sold direct-to-consumer and new channels for direct-to-consumer sales, particularly expanding the efforts around digital products.
-Through market research and analysis, develop the organization's understanding of the consumer and competitors to identify new growth opportunities and develop new business strategies.
-Analyze the company's customer data, provide insights to internal constituencies about the state of the business, key trends, and insights required to increase lifetime value and drive deeper ongoing engagement.
-Deliver quantifiable results to drive the company's success in direct-to-consumer marketing activities.
-Be a leader in exploring new social channel opportunities
-Must have a minimum at least 5 years of social media experience with a proven track record of channel development
-Bachelor's degree required, with a preferred emphasis in journalism, writing, or marketing.
-Must have strong written skills, including creative writing, grammar, and editorial.
-Ability to gather, translate, and leverage data to maximize results
-Must have a commitment to truth and factual information, willing to take extra steps to ensure social content is accurate and reliable.
-Sense of humor, quick wit, and ability to communicate that in written word.
-Visual design skills. Ability to make basic edits in photoshop or leverage other design tools to create social friendly ads, tiles, etc.
-Must have strong analytical skills to make data-driven business decisions.
-Demonstrated ability in developing teams and promoting teamwork across various departments.
-Experience in publishing a plus.
