Cloud Engineer

While we are ideally looking for individuals with previous DevOps and public cloud experience, this is a great opportunity for someone with a systems engineering background and automation skills who is looking to gain that exposure!.

• Build and maintain highly available and scalable production systems
• Manage core production systems, including frequent changes and updates
• Rapidly identify and resolve problems in production systems
• Handle complex service faults
• Develop tools to improve our monitoring with infrastructure running in Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure environments
• Improve technologies and processes while maintaining a rapid delivery cycle
• Provide support during off hours (nights and weekends) when necessary
• • 3+ year's managing and maintaining Linux and Windows servers in a multi-server, multi-location environment
  • Experience with virtualization solutions (VMware or other)
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technologies, including: open source technologies, cloud services (AWS, Azure), IIS, Apache, Tomcat, F5, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, APM
  • A working understanding of code and script (Powershell, .NET, Python, Ruby, AngularJS, Node.js, and/or Go)
  • Passionate about automation and infrastructure as code principles
  • Ability to determine when and how to escalate issues to senior management
  • Ability to work with a variety of teams and be passionate about building cutting-edge solutions to solve problems with the right technologies
  • Strong understanding across cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, data, and applications) to deliver end-to-end cloud infrastructure architectures and designs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Ability to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, and work to improve the customer experience
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude

  Preferred:

  • Experience configuring Amazon Web Services or similar cloud-based platforms
  • Automation/configuration management experience in a DevOps environment (using Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Packer or related technology)​
