Revenue Management Manager

 

Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible for maximizing the revenue and profitability of Mohegan Sun’s hotel and arena through the monitoring and advising of pricing strategies, marketing campaigns, segmentation strategies, and yielding for in-bound hotel sales and reservations.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

 

  • Develops policies, procedures, guidelines and models for achieving revenue, up-sell opportunities, profitability and occupancy goals
  • Implements Strategic Marketing best practices and facilitates the execution of these strategies
  • Implements and administers automation tools to make business processes more effective and efficient
  • Facilitates the creation of performance metrics
  • Establishes goals that are in alignment with department, division and corporate strategic objectives
  • Develops and maintains the processes and models to maximize the total profitability of Mohegan Sun’s room inventory
  • Achieves consistently high occupancy in the hotel and at events through the use of pricing strategies and multi-channel direct marketing
  • Prepares the annual operating budget and makes recommendations for short and long-term capital needs
  • Effectivity manages arena event forecasts and posts analysis

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensures proper controls are in place to safeguard information and financial assets
  • Evaluates for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Implements and manages the transient hotel marketing strategy
  • Supervises employees, provides performance feedback, and enforces policies and procedures
  • Evaluates the displacement of casino/transient guests against the contribution of Group Sales and other event blocks
  • Implements and administers Strategic Marketing Systems (ie Duetto, Travelclick Ihotelier & Channel Manager)
  • Manages external vendor relationships
  • Acts as a liaison between marketing, hotel, entertainment and other operational departments to maximize overall revenue

 

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Quantitative Analysis, Statistics or a related field
  • Three years of experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, Senior Revenue Analyst or Senior Marketing Analyst in the gaming, hospitality or airline industries
  • Demonstrates knowledge of yield management techniques and standard industry software to perform yield management
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of Strategic Marketing best practices
  • In lieu of a Degree and previously mentioned experience, seven years of experience as a Senior Financial, Revenue or Marketing Analyst in the gaming, hospitality or airline industry may be considered

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Basic understanding of the Mohegan Sun budget process
  • Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment

 

Training Requirements:

 

  • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
  • Must complete the Core Manager Training course
  • Understanding of Mohegan Sun’s Time and Attendance and Payroll Systems
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge with the Strategic Marketing software application (i.e. Duetto)
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of the Property Management System (i.e. Lodging Management System)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Casino Management Systems (i.e. Bally’s ACSC)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Transient Booking Engine (Travelclick Ihotelier & Channel Manager)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Teradata SQL & Cognos BI

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

 

  • Office work environment
  • Must sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • May require occasional weekend and evening work
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
