Job Description

Senior Operations Manager for Smyrna warehouse

Responsible for managing and directing all aspects of business and operations in a an ISO 13485 ran multi-client facility.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Oversee all facility operations including Fulfillment, Production, Reverse Logistics, Maintenance, Security, and Safety.

Manages the process through supervisors and, in some cases, team leaders. Overall staff size normally includes at least 3 full-time supervisors and 100 – 300 direct labor employees (permanent and contract).

Ensures that processes are in place and works with QA on gap analysis and internal audits of those processes

Reviews or establishes staffing plans.

Responsible for employee hiring, training, evaluation, salary increases, promotions, and terminations.

Responsible for quarterly Lean initiatives and CIP program

Responsible for maintaining the sites ISO 13485 and CTPAT certificates

 

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

Manages 3 levels of employees on multiple shift structure

Ability to labor plan all essential functions of an operation.

Work with engineers on project quotes and manufacturing layouts for kitting and refurbishment projects

Organize, assign, and evaluate work of employees

Hire or has major influence in hiring new employees

Write performance reviews

Determine or has major influence regarding salary increases and promotions.

Demonstrate financial responsibility, including budgeting and forecasting, financial controls, and expenses.

Initiate and communicate disciplinary action when needed.

Manage to customer SLA’s to ensure adhearance to expectations

Understands and Manages:

  • Regulatory and Compliance needs of Healthcare clients and trains team to ensure compliance
  • ModuLink SOX requirements and ensures documentation, training, and processes are compliant
  • CTPAT certification

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or previous experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years Operation Manager experience, with exposure to an ISO 13485 distribution environment, including successful management of a diverse staff

 

SKILLS

Demonstrated expertise in warehouse systems and inventory practices.

Demonstrated results in Lean operations, six sigma, and driving process improvements.

Demonstrated ability to perform effectively deliver results working with cross functional teams.

Ability to work effectively with clients to resolve client and business issues.

Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple tasks and projects.

Strong computer literacy and expertise required.

Flexible work hours.

Must have strong organizational skills.

Strong leadership experience and ability.

Some travel may be required.

Success in change management especially in the implementation of new WMS systems

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

General climate controlled office environment within a warehouse environment .

Prolonged sitting and repetitive motion due to extended computer use.

Frequent exposure to production, distribution area working conditions, including noise, and dust exposure and lift truck traffic.

Stress related to conflicting priorities and meeting schedule deadlines.

 

PHYSICAL & COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

Ability to see, and proficiently speak, hear, write, and understand English.

Sustained attention to detail.

Ability to read and analyze data and other written information.

Moderate physical exertion.
