Job Description: Department: Production Control (PC) & Logistics Reports To: PC & Logistics Head of Department (HOD) FLSA Status: Exempt Summary: The Production Control Manager is responsible for the establishment and administration of the Mobis U.S. Alabama (MUA) Production Control Working Group. The incumbent manages all areas of Production Planning Systems, Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Changes (EC) Controls, and comprehensive production management. Note: Incumbent will work at the Mobis Alabama Plant in Montgomery, AL until the new Mobis U.S. Alabama plant in McCalla, AL is ready for occupancy. Essential Functions: [Production Planning]Serve as initial point of contact for the customer (Mercedes-Benz U.S. International) (MBUSI) production planMonitor MBUSI’s production plan changes and irregular orders, and inform other departments (Schedule, Jobs per Hour (JPH), shift plan, volume, working hours, and CKD (overseas)/Pilot Car Orders)Make changes to the production plan with MBUSI as neededMaintain Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) process between MBUSI and MUA and conduct contingency plans when trouble with Broadcast (Material Release, JIS Preview, JIS Broadcast, JIT VPDD and data change/delete)Maintain work order process and production information in Manufacturing Execution System (MES) (Line assembly code, Broadcast data, Fool Proof Barcode Key Data, VPD data, Working Time Pattern)Maintain Just-in-Sequence (JIS) lead time information (MBUSI Computer Technology Services (CTS) Process, Docking Station and Delivery Lead Time)Provide input production capacity information in MBUSI system when notifiedMaintain capacity information (Daily Max Capability, Machine Cycle Time and Number – Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV), and wheel aligner)Collect and maintain production index in MES, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or manually (Actual vs. Planned, Working Time, Hour per Module, Down Time, OEM Line Stop, Inefficient Expense, Scrap Cost, Line Assignment Efficiency and Overtime)Maintain monthly/weekly production reports (Production Index analysis and improvement)Maintain production index system data accuracy (System vs. Actual)Additional duties as assigned [Plant Planning]Submit reports pertaining to plant planning activitiesMaintain plant information and indexRespond to requirements and requests from Korean headquartersSupport and complete special projects as necessary [BOM/EC Control]Serve as initial point of contact for customer (MBUSI) EC, including BOMCreate part numbers and maintain information in SAP Material Master Management (MRP view, Work Center, Routing, Production Version, Standard Cost and Module Number)Monitor incoming EDI for brand new parts dailyMaintain SAP Production Planning module process and implementationMaintain production BOM in SAP/MES (Part Number, Material Information and Effective Point Information)Track weekly and monthly material consumption for material closing and inventory accuracyMaintain and distribute Master Part List to all departmentsTrack material history for obsolete or gain/loss itemsFollow up with IT team for SAP system improvementsCoordinate EC implementation with all plant departmentsManage EC part changes (EC alert, 1st sequence recording, internal/external EC communications)Manage EC information - participate in internal/external EC meetings and track upcoming ECMaintain EC systems (G-EPI, SAP) Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes- All Team Members in Production Control Working Group Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management, or related fieldEight (8) years of experience in production control field in a large-scale manufacturing facility (Production Planning, BOM, and EC)Three (3) years of supervisory experience Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Detailed knowledge of (JIS) process and system in Automotive industryAbility to interpret and analyze engineering drawingsAbility to use Computer-Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA) programComprehensive problem-solving skillsExcellent leadership skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment Preferred Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering or Mechanical EngineeringExperience in automotive assembly/manufacturingWorking experience with Daimler (Mercedes-Benz)Experience in plant set upSAP(PP/MM/SD module and MES experienceKorean language skill to communicate with Korean Headquarters Working Conditions:Office setting, some walking within and between buildings 95% in office environment, 5% in production environmentTravel to customer MBUSI as neededWeekend work to support inventory audit when neededWorking late as needed to accomplish objectivesNote: Incumbent will work at the Mobis Alabama Plant in Montgomery, AL until the new Mobis U.S. Alabama plant in McCalla, AL is ready for occupancy. Our bumpers are molded and painted in-house. Bumpers for HMMA are also assembled in-house before transfer to HMMA for final assembly, while bumpers for KMMG are sent to our sister plant in Georgia for assembly. After molding, instrument panel frames move to the Module plant next door where we prepare them to receive additional parts to form a complete Cockpit (dashboard) assembly. Also in the Module building are our front and rear Chassis (vehicle suspension) assembly lines. Here, parts from Tier 2 and 3 suppliers are assembled into completed Chassis modules which are transported to nearby HMMA for final vehicle assembly. Our Redistribution Center (RDC) supplies genuine Hyundai and KIA after-service parts to dealerships, auto parts stores, and other parts distribution centers. We receive parts from suppliers globally which are distributed across North America to satisfy our customers’ demand for high-quality automotive parts.
