Reports to: Manager of Sales- RDC

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Summary:

The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for working closely with distributors to identify sales opportunities and to address supply issues. The incumbent also performs analysis of monthly sales and order targets for parts distribution centers throughout the region.

Essential Functions:

Distributor Support:

  • Uploads, processes and or cancels parts orders from distributors; updates distributors on issues impacting the processing of orders; coordinates with purchasing regarding newly procured parts (set up, pricing and serviceability) to reduce service times
  • Works closely with distributors to identity sales opportunities and addresses supply issues
  • Leads weekly conference call meetings with distributors; reviews and or establishes agenda, collaborates with others as necessary to effectively address key issues on the agenda
  • Monitors the production and distribution of engines based on back order and demand status
  • Communicates with distributors on issues that affect any parts ordered (technical, sourcing, vendor delays) and works to identify solutions for the fastest service to the end customer
  • Collaborates with purchasing , third party packagers, and the RDC warehouse to expedite urgent part requests
  • Reviews service rates and collaborates with other team members and distributors to meet KPI targets

Analysis and Reporting:

  • Updates and maintains the Vehicle Off road Back order Report on an as needed basis to update distributors on part order requests
  • Analyzes, records, and maintains monthly sales and order targets and totals by parts distribution centers throughout the region
  • Prepares other reports and analyzes data as requested by the management team
  • Prepares the parts expedite lists for third party packagers and purchasing team daily
  • Prepares the weekly aged back order report an issues for purchasing team for update in weekly back order meetings

Other Tasks:

  • Acts as liaison between distributors and purchasing team, supports replenishment, technical and quality team members to resolve any issues that impact distributor orders, service rates and KPIs
  • Maintains records for improvement ideas for the RDC, supports time submission by team members and submits final ideas to production control
  • Re-issues invoices as necessary to distributors

Job Requirements

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field plus 2 years of experience designing and manipulating Excel spreadsheets

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate issues and solve problems
  • Ability to resolve conflicts with customers at various levels
  • Ability to achieve viable solutions in a fast paced environment

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • One or more years of distribution experience
  • Experience designing and manipulating Access databases

Working Conditions:

Spends 98% of time working in the office and 2% of time traveling to customer sites

Established in 2002 and operating on nearly 83 acres in Montgomery, Alabama, MOBIS Alabama, LLC is the largest Tier 1 supplier to both Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) and KIA Motor Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG). With a commitment to quality, we pride ourselves on providing state-of-the-art Modules, Assemblies, and genuine Hyundai and KIA after-service parts. Our process begins in the sprawling 600,000 square-foot Plastics plant where we use injection molding to produce front and rear bumpers, instrument panel frames, and after-service parts. Our bumpers are molded and painted in-house. Bumpers for HMMA are also assembled in-house before transfer to HMMA for final assembly, while bumpers for KMMG are sent to our sister plant in Georgia for assembly. After molding, instrument panel frames move to the Module plant next door where we prepare them to receive additional parts to form a complete Cockpit (dashboard) assembly. Also in the Module building are our front and rear Chassis (vehicle suspension) assembly lines. Here, parts from Tier 2 and 3 suppliers are assembled into completed Chassis modules which are transported to nearby HMMA for final vehicle assembly. Our Redistribution Center (RDC) supplies genuine Hyundai and KIA after-service parts to dealerships, auto parts stores, and other parts distribution centers. We receive parts from suppliers globally which are distributed across North America to satisfy our customers’ demand for high-quality automotive parts.
