JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a collaborative and organized Systems Engineer to develop a new solar roofing product. You will join a growing team dedicated to bringing well-being to people by improving the spaces where we all live, work, play, move and heal. Primary Responsibilities: • Requirements definition and change management • Software selection/specification for layout, commissioning, and customer portal • Interoperability of mechanical, electrical, and software components • External testing management • System level UL certification • Manage development of product documentation including installation manuals • Material and prototype inventory management • System cost and BOM management. We are looking for the following qualities in a teammate: • Entrepreneurial: we feel true ownership over whether our projects result in the improvement our customers' lives and the health of the planet and we don't hesitate to jump and help at all levels • Open-Minded: our work includes making things, trying them (with customers), and using the knowledge about what failed to inform subsequent iterations. Knowing that innovation is an iterative process, you'll need to stay open-minded, seeking to learn as much from what doesn't work as from what does. • Maker Mentality: we make a lot of prototypes because they help us prove our ideas don't work, freeing us to quickly move on to new ones.

We work back-and-forth between 3D CAD and physical prototyping, so a willingness to build what you need to test a new product concept is key. • Collaborative: we're comfortable asking for help and working with a diverse team both inside and outside of the company. We believe open innovation and diverse connections lead to better ideas and solutions. Requirements: • Degree in electrical, software, mechanical or other related discipline • 3+ years systems engineering of systems with multiple software and hardware components • 3+ years new product development experience • 3+ years hardware and software specification development, management and tracking • Experience managing external software development contracts preferred • Experience with solar system analysis and layout software preferred • Knowledge of UL standards for photovoltaic systems preferred WHO WE ARE: This company is one of the largest industrial research laboratories.
