We are a privately held, venture capital backed company with a mission to transform the treatment of kidney disease by reversing its progression and enabling and inspiring patients to resume their normal lives. We are developing first-in-class, highly targeted therapies for individuals living with both acute and chronic renal diseases. Our objective is to transform the treatment of renal diseases, providing patients with treatment options where currently few exist. As a key member of our Research team, the Head of Molecular and Information Sciences is responsible for building out the protein and nucleic acid chemistry capabilities of the organization. He or she will build a team to include strong structural biology, genomics and transcriptomics including NGS based technologies and data and informatics management. This individual will report into the Chief Scientific Officer.




         Be part of a cutting-edge research team that isolates and discovers small molecule and biologics-based candidate drugs including antibody therapeutics

         Manage and develop antibody technologies to discover and develop novel antibody and multi-specific protein based drugs

         An understanding of how the target glycoprotein interacts with other proteins to form complexes on cell surfaces or in the circulation that affect the biology of the system

         Establish protein expression and purification capabilities to evaluate structure-activity relationships and develop biochemical/biophysical assays

         Experience with protein engineering to facilitate small molecule chemistry-based drug screening

         Understand and mitigate potential antibody liabilities related to the manufacturability and developability of candidate antibody therapeutics

         Produce purified small molecule target protein or variants and or antibodies in quantities sufficient for SAR and or disease model or pharmacological studies

         Bioinformatics analysis including polymorphisms of the targets in health and disease as well as drug sequence and repertoire analysis

         Single cell transcriptomics analysis and data visualization

         Utilizing public and private databases to triage patient populations and ensure that we are getting the right drugs to the right patients

         Work with legal group to disclose new inventions, generate strong and robust data and support IP filing

         Oversee sample management, technical report writing including establishing and managing external research

         Lead and inspire a group of innovative and productive direct reports






         Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience

         Experience with relevant techniques such as antibody technologies, flow cytometry and sorting, single cell transcriptomics and protein biochemistry

         Experience with SAR and protein engineering

         An understanding of computational biology and an ability to ask the right questions to derive bioinformatics and ML-based answers

         Experience managing and developing laboratory scientists and direct reports

         A strong work ethic, excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to function in an interdisciplinary team setting are essential

         Driven and a self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced early-stage biotech environment

         Experience building a positive, team-oriented culture with strong leadership and communications skills

         Strong passion for innovating and forward-thinking based on competent experimentation and reliable data

         Demonstration of leadership, problem solving, decision-making, and project management skills

         Open, highly collaborative and scientifically curious
