  • Title: Environmental Scientist II
  • Location: Nashville, TN
  • Job description: Typical workload consists of vegetative monitoring, delineations, geomorphic surveys, biological sampling, water quality sampling, restoration construction oversight, and various land management applications. This position includes both field work as well as office work analyzing the collected data. Desired candidate will have a background in Environmental Science and/or Biology, with an emphasis in Soil Science, Hydrology or Forestry. This position reports to the most senior Project Team member for Tennessee.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience is required and one level of Rosgen training is strongly preferred.
  • Start date: Flexible depending on experience of candidate.
  • Salary: Commensurate with experience.
  • Group benefits: Health insurance stipend (after 90-days) and Simple IRA (after 1 year).
  • Hours of work: This position typically requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. Of such hours, the employee would need to average a minimum of 35 billable hours per week over the course of the year. Since day trips as well as occasional overnight stays are required, normal 9am-5pm business hours can vary considerably and do not always apply. This position may be remote/ work from home for the first 12-18 months of employment.
  • Vacation: This position would be granted 13 days of paid time off (vacation and sick days) on an annual basis. Mitigation Management also observes the following six paid holidays in addition to the 13 days of paid time off: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

Following the initial 90-days of employment, a progression and performance review will be conducted on an as needed basis to assess performance to-date, and to clarify or modify this arrangement, as the need may arise. This arrangement may be terminated by either party upon notice in writing to either party with notice that complies with Employment Standards (or Labor Standards) for the State of Tennessee.
