What you'll do

In this role, you will support the Project Director by acting as the first point of contact for internal and external customers seeking support and information, assisting in the planning, coordination, organization and execution of facility support needs in maintaining the two (2) buildings on Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. As part of your daily tasks, you will initiate work requests, establish deadlines and priorities, monitor progress of work requests, and provide guidance in solving problems. review finished work for quality and compliance to meet the highest specifications and policies and make recommendation to the government for acceptance. Ensuring the facility infrastructure (e.g., plumbing, structural, landscaping) is maintained as well as create and maintain a schedule of preventive maintenance and repairs to create a history of each major system.

  • Meet the regular recurring inspections of the facility and grounds, walkways, and parking to identify any deficiencies/problems and resolve them
  • Respond to inquiries, requests and complaints concerning the facility and support operations
  • Assist in coordination of oversight of the facilities maintenance and upkeep to include: repairs and preventative maintenance of the power grid (i.e., transformers, generators, switches, outlets etc.)
  • Certifying physical security of building is preserved at all time. This will consist of checking door locks, windows, card readers, alarm systems and exterior lighting. This will also include the inspection/replacement of fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems and other monitors
  • Assisting in performing duties as the health and safety representative/coordinator to offer preventive classes in first aid and other health training opportunities as requested
  • Maintain the defibrillator, first aid kits, and ensure the floor evacuation plan has representatives assigned and trained as floor monitors
  • Security will be maintained at all times but will be flexible enough so that all work will be accomplished and with as little disruption as possible
  • Procuring supplies, accept delivery of said supplies and will store/inventory as needed for accurate record validation.
  • Maintaining the GSA motor vehicles to include preventive maintenance and turn-in repairs
  • Will create and manage service reports documenting service as well as mileage
  • Hold and present invoices for Government approval: (Will not represent that he/she is part of the Government or has the authority to contract for the Government.)
  • Assist with security control desk on an as needed basis

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Six or more (6+) years experience in facilities/HVAC maintenance
  • Current Secret Clearance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with monitoring and/or request repair of the heating and air conditioning systems, controls, equipment and ventilation within the buildings
  • Experience in preparing for fire inspections, preventive maintenance audits, semi-annual maintenance calls and be active in the construction oversight of the security operations center
  • A commitment to your profession demonstrated by participation in providing support, guidance and memberships in professional associations
