Job Description

Budget/Cost Analyst

Fort Belvoir, VA

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide Business, Cost Estimating, and Financial Management support necessary for PM, to include support analysis for the preparation of the Program Objectives Memorandum (POM), spend plans, and various other budget related documents required by the Government. You will support the development, analysis, and execution of the budget using M/S Access, Excel PowerPoint, Program Planning in SOMARDS, GFEBS, Financial topics. You will analyze proposals, and other documentation, to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. As well as, prepare estimates for selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. Other responsiblities are listed below:

  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements, and prepare itemized lists, as required
  • Provide expertise in earned value management, cost analysis, cost estimating, budget planning, tracking and execution
  • Support program reviews for BCF performance of industry partner execution; and integration efforts with other contracting personnel to identify and resolve problems
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements, and prepare itemized lists, as required
  • Prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
  • Prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying specialized methodologies, techniques, or processes
  • Compute cost factors used for preparing estimates for management and determining cost effectiveness

 

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) in a finance or accounting related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Six or more (6+) years’ experience
  • Current Secret Clearance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to comfortably interact and provide recommendations to high-level commanders/executives in a conservative manner
  • Excellent customer service and project management skills
  • A commitment to your profession demonstrated by participation in providing support, guidance and memberships in professional associations
