Quality Assurance Supervisor

This position is responsible for partnering with the rest of the organization to consistently supply products that exceed customer and consumer expectations. The QA Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the QA Leads and technicians.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises Plant Quality System requirements

  2. Reviews activities to ensure conformance to specifications.

  3. Monitors and guarantees that products are being manufactured in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Practices. Provides training and support; as well as enforcement to the Food Safety Program.

  4. Investigates and communicates to the QA Manager all departmental and Plant issues.

  5. Supervises the daily activities of the technicians and assures the proper training in Safety, Food Safety and Quality Systems.

  6. Reviews and updates work aids (instructions, charts, manuals, bulletins, code date calendars, etc.) essential for verification of product quality.

  7. Assists in special projects and generates summary of projects’ performance.

  8. Communicate effectively with the department, plant and Corporate Personnel.

  9. Takes disciplinary actions and investigates incidents when required.

  10. Perform QA Manager Duties and responsibilities in his/her absence.

Education & Experience

High School diploma, GED or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemical, Engineering, Microbiology strongly preferred. 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment required. Food/Beverage manufacturing preferred. With a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity or 4 years as a Lead in a manufacturing environment required. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Reliable, Responsible, with initiative to take the next level; Committed
  • Quality Systems experience,
  • Knowledge in HACCP and Food Safety Programs
  • Computer Literacy, Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) desirable
  • Knowledge of statistics preferred
  • Good communication skills
