Staff Accountant

We are looking for a staff accountant AP / AR to join our team.

Location: Lakeway, TX

Full time in office, potential for hybrid schedule in the future.

MCFI is seeking a self-driven, detail-oriented Operations Accountant that is motivated to put their energy, skills, and knowledge into making our accounting operations run smoothly. The ideal candidate will be excited about contributing to the MCFI’s success and will have a team player and continuous improvement mentality.

The Operations Accountant will ensure that:

• We maintain excellent relationships with our partners as it relates to billing, collections, AP management, and customer and vendor setup and maintenance
• MCFI’s financial records for A/R and A/P are completed in a timely and error-free (monthly reconciliations, vendor and customer statements, etc)
• We are constantly improving our process and learning
• The finance team is a reliable partner to the business

This position will report to the Accounting Manager and work alongside 2-3 finance staff as well as collaborate with our operations team on a daily basis

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant accounting operations experience including A/R, A/P, and state and local tax compliance
• Understanding of the financial close process including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliation schedules
• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of ERP systems
• Advanced computer skills and ability to quickly learn and adopt new software tools
• Uses professional judgment in asking questions and taking initiative in resolving these independently or by working with the rest of the team (including operations)
• High degree of professionalism, integrity and a strong sense of ownership and pride in your work

Nice to Have:

• Sage 300 CRE experience
• Experience with AP management software (e.g. Bill.com)
• Background in a distribution, construction, or manufacturing environment
