Glass Manufacturing Manager

Minneapolis Glass in Plymouth, MN is hiring a full-time General Glass Manufacturing Manager to join our Glass Operations Team. This newly created position earns a competitive salary starting at $85,000 plus bonus potential of $10,000+. This is a first shift operation with a predictable work schedule of 6:30am - 3:00pm. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GENERAL GLASS MANUFACTURING MANAGER

As a Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for leading 2-4 production supervisors and motivating 30+ production glass workers. This includes clearly communicating expectations of high-quality workmanship and holding each person accountable for results. As a manager, you will develop and execute an operations strategy for efficiency and the expansion of the glass fabrication business as we move into a new corporate headquarters.

You will plan workflow and allocate manpower, equipment and materials for made-to-order fabricated glass products to optimize production output with respect to safety, quality, delivery and cost. You will be accountable for tracking various key performance indicators to ensure manufacturing targets are achieved or exceeded. You will develop and direct an efficient layout of equipment and materials especially in moving to the new building.

Using our business processes and inventory / logistics software, you will ensure product is manufactured according to an efficient schedule and that customers receive their quality glass product on time via will-call or delivery on one of our trucks. You create a healthy and open work environment by being a role model and making sure our company vision and core values are lived. Communication and collaboration are key to form strong relationships with customers, vendors, and your team. You are a champion of continuous improvement for Minneapolis Glass and will be sought out for your expertise.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A GLASS MANUFACTURING MANAGER

• 5 - 10 years of experience managing in a process manufacturing environment and/or directly relatable experience in process management fundamentals.
• 3+ years of managing manufacturing teams.
• Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement concepts along with the to accept, support, and deploy new processes in a changing business environment.
• Proficiency with computers, inventory/logistics software and KPI reporting.
• Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, supply chain or other related operations management strongly preferred. High School diploma required.
• Knowledge of glass products preferred.
