Sales and Training Specialist
- $45,000 to $55,000 Yearly
- Full-Time
What we do: We develop solutions for psychology research, with a specialization in psychophysiology, or the measurement of physiological phenomena as a means to better understand and quantify mental states. Our community of researchers use our products to better understand a number of psychological states and at-risk populations, including veterans with PTSD, teenagers struggling with suicidal ideation, perfectionism, depression, emotion regulation, and parent-child relationships, to name a few.
Who we are: We are a small team of driven individuals based in Columbus, Ohio and scattered across the world with a passion for helping others and delivering the best possible tools to the psychology research community. As a small team serving thousands of researchers, we certainly work hard, but we find plenty of time to have fun during weekly staff meetings and monthly virtual happy hours.
Who you are: As a Sales and Training Specialist, we are looking for someone with a specific combination of personality- and skill-based traits:
You have a background in psychology (bachelor’s degree or higher). Any experience with lab technologies (physiology/EEG/stimulus presentation) is a plus.
You have strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
You have extreme attention to detail and can learn and maintain a wide range of documents and ensure information is accurate and up to date
You are highly organized, and enjoy maintaining a clean digital workspace.
You are somewhat technical, or are willing to learn the details of technical systems.
You are a lifelong learner and appreciate the opportunity to learn new things. You aren’t afraid to try something you have never done before.
You believe strongly in the idea that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
Experience in any/all of these areas can be replaced with a strong drive to learn and adapt.
What you will do at MindWare: This position does not require your presence at the main office, and can be done remotely from anywhere in the world. However, you will be expected to maintain at least some working hours in Eastern Time. Ideally 9am-5pm ET for overlapping hours with our sales team, but can be flexible between 6am-6pm ET.
The Sales and Training Specialist role will require you to support two critical functions in the company - sales and training. To do this effectively, you will need to become an expert in our technology and understand the needs of a researcher in this field. We’ve found that it takes roughly 12 months to become proficient with the most common systems we provide dependent on prior experience. Initially, this role will consist of the following activities:
Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to generate records in our records management system (Netsuite) including estimates, contacts/customers, and related records
Attending sales calls to learn our sales process and how we communicate with customers
Responding to inbound sales requests via phone and email, generating estimates, and working with customers to identify the system that helps them achieve their research goals
Attending training calls to obtain in depth knowledge of our systems and the foundation of science upon which they are based
Providing customer support based on what you learn during training calls as preparation for conduction these trainings yourself
Tagging emails to appropriate records to maintain up to date communications in records management
Assisting with other sales-related tasks including event organization (i.e. completing forms for attending a conference/tradeshow, communicating with conference representatives, etc)
At some point in the future, there may be an opportunity for you to focus on either training or sales responsibilities, but for the foreseeable future we need help in both areas. Additionally, as you gain experience, there will be opportunities to travel to universities and attend conferences/meetings around the world to represent MindWare and share our products/services.
As a member of a small team, you will also have the opportunity to:
Work with all members of the team to contribute to other areas of the company
Learn more about our technology, human psychology/physiology, and the research community we serve
Improve existing processes and establish new ones
Directly impact the overall success of the company
What’s in it for you: Your work will truly matter, not only to the researchers we directly work with but also to the populations they study and the improved mental and physical health treatment they receive. We have a grand vision for the future which will require growth - and you will be getting involved early. We also offer full benefits (medical/dental/vision) and a generous PTO schedule.
