POSITION SUMMARY: This position is part of the team concept which is devoted to the delivery of primary care in an ambulatory setting with emphases on prevention and health maintenance. The Medical Assistant will be required to apply principles of comprehensive, community-based, patient-centered, developmentally appropriate, and culturally and linguistically appropriate care coordination. The Medical Assistant is expected to provide support to the provider in assessment, examination, treatment, and other management of patients in the clinical setting. Strong customer service, communication, teamwork, and multi- tasking skills is a must. Perform duties and carryout the necessary functions required in accordance with established policies and procedures. All duties performed must reflect Clinical Skill Checklist competency as determined during the orientation and probation periods and updated as recommended by supervisor.
Education: Certification as a Medical Assistant, Associates of Science with AAMA certification preferred. Certification in CPR mandatory.
Experience: Two years or more in a clinic, physician’s office or hospital setting preferred. Nursing students who have completed at least two nursing clinical rotations will be considered for this position.
