Spanish Teacher
- $35 to $50 Hourly
- Part-Time
POSITION SUMMARY
The part-time Spanish Teacher is responsible for instructing and motivating students to appreciate and understand the Spanish language. This role will integrate a modern Christian worldview with current technology and educational standards. They will communicate regularly with students and parents to provide up-to-date academic and behavioral progress of their students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum and Lesson Planning
• Leads an effective program of Spanish language instruction, theory, and history in accordance with the adopted curriculum, using required teaching strategies;
• Develops and implements curriculum and lesson plans to foster knowledge and skills essential to student learning;
• Demonstrates concepts using models, technology, and other standard or teacher-prepared instructional aids for inquiry-based learning; and
• Communicate with parents to discuss individual student's progress.
Student Engagement
• Implements engaging teaching and learning methods, and incorporates curriculum standards;
• Inspires and motivates students to learn and integrates effective classroom management strategies;
• Models Christian values;
• Assists in planning activities, programs, and learning experiences that align with the mission of Milpitas Christian School;
• Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and other school personnel; and
• Regularly communicates with parents regarding individual student's progress.

• Routinely reaching and climbing stairs;
• Occasionally sitting, squatting, bending, twisting, walking, reaching, and stooping; lifting and carrying; and

QUALIFICATIONS
All MCS Staff must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as established in the Company's Employee Handbook. Incumbents will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they get along with all constituent groups, co-workers, and management.

EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
• Preferred current valid state teaching credential; and
• ACSI certification ‐ seek to obtain ACSI certification within 1 year of teaching.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- • Preferred prior classroom teaching experience preferred.
KEY SKILLS SET
• Ability to engage students in a school environment while serving in the calling of Christian Education;
• Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum standards, education code, and appropriate instructional subjects;
• Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with coworkers, students, families and outside contacts are essential;
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet schedules and deadlines; and
• Team player.
EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS
• Working knowledge of Smart/Interactive Boards; and
• High proficiency in Google Suite, Educational Software, etc.
