Requirements Analyst/System Administrator

Job Description

Remote work expected for an extended period. Salary commensurate with qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Understand complex requirements presented both verbally and in writing
  • Validate requirements to determine quality and completeness
  • Work closely with various members of design and engineering, software development, integration, test and evaluation teams to develop, enhance, and maintain the necessary requirements artifacts
  • Derive system performance requirements and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture(s)
  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to derive lower level system requirements specifications
  • Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as Sub-System specifications and Interface Control Documents
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s)- Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
  • Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
  • Participate in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycle
  • Derive from the system requirements an understanding of stakeholder needs, functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level, JCIDS type documents that describe in detail the functions that a system component must fulfill and ensure these requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable
  • Define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems and work products are verified against their requirements in a written plan
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services (Confidentiality, Integrity, Non repudiation and Availability); Basic Information Assurance Mechanisms (e.g. Identification, Authentication, Access Control, Accountability); and Security Mechanism Technology (Passwords, cryptography, discretionary access control, mandatory access control, hashing, key management, etc.)
  • Work closely with users of the system to understand requested functionality and validate requirements
  • Develop user acceptance testing criteria
  • Work closely with quality assurance analysts to verify and validate requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Configure user access within the IBM Rational software suite
  • Troubleshoot server, network, and storage issues within the organization
  • Assist users with accessing and proper utilization of the IBM Rational software suite
  • Configure/customize IBM Rational tools per user needs
  • Incorporate enterprise policies and procedures into the IBM Rational suite configurations

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Five (5) years of experience in relevant technical field, to include: Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Logistics support of C5ISR requirements.
  • Cyber Security Workforce (Sec+)
  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical topics
  • Excellent understanding of requirements elicitation and requirement management
  • Experience researching and troubleshooting issues
  • Experience with participating in requirements user group discussions
  • Experience and working knowledge of any branch within the US Armed Forces
  • Experience and working knowledge of integrated enterprise software suites
  • Experience and working knowledge of single sign-on (SSO) technologies
  • Experience in troubleshooting Windows and/or Linux servers
  • Working knowledge of the IBM Rational floating and token license models
  • Experience and working knowledge of role-based user management
  • Experience and working knowledge of discretionary access control
  • Experience and working knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies
  • Experience and working knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of change and configuration management concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Physical Science
  • Excellent understanding of MIL-STD-961E
  • Experience generating requirements documentation, based upon MIL-STD-961E
  • Experience with requirements tracking and management tools, such as DOORS, DOORS Next Generation, etc.
  • Experience with facilitating in requirements user group discussions
  • Experience working on a large, full life-cycle development project
  • Experience and working knowledge of the USMC
  • Experience and working knowledge of C4ISR/EW systems
  • Experience and working knowledge of Amphibious Assault Operations
  • Experience and working knowledge of troubleshooting IP networks and network storage
  • Experience and working knowledge of integrating OSLC compliant software
  • Experience configuring SSO technologies
  • Experience deploying integrated enterprise software suites
  • Experience configuring and managing Microsoft SharePoint services
