Instructional Design Position
Miller Creative (MC), we are corporate storytellers.
We are a team that uses video, instructor/web-based learning and immersive technology, to transform our client’s communication and training solutions. Through storytelling we create interactive solutions that help our customers effectively engage and train employees and market their services.
Miller Creative is seeking qualified instructional designers to help us create effective learning. Our team designs and develops a wide range of interactive training products that offer our clients customized tools for engaging their employees and marketing their services. Our products cover a broad media landscape that includes video, elearning, and immersive technologies alongside traditional instructor-led training.
We are looking for flexible, knowledgeable instructional designers who can bring their experience and creativity to help us develop innovative training and communication solutions that exceed our clients’ expectations.
Location - Chicago, IL
This position will be a Work From Home opportunity as of now. Normally, this is an on-site position and will return to working at our Chicago location sometime in the future when it is safe to do so.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in technology, education, or a related field is required
Master’s degree in instructional design, education or a related field is strongly preferred.
Experience
5+ years’ experience developing and delivering instructor-led training and elearning
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with instructional design theory and Adult Learning Principles.
Proven ability to develop engaging and effective training curriculum across numerous platforms and media.
Experience with Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate.
Experience in multimedia development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Instructional Designer will:
Apply current instructional design theory and best practices to create effective learning and training products.
Work with subject matter experts and clients to collect necessary information to design and develop education solutions.
Conduct learning/training needs assessments.
Develop course objectives,design plans, and storyboards based on assessment results.
Design, develop, and implement effective, engaging training in a variety of formats, including ILTs, elearnings, and mobile and blended learning solutions.
Work with the graphic design team to create visual design and instructional graphics that will enhance learning.
Create supplemental material such as videos, simulations, games, etc., to support instructional goals.
Create Facilitator and Participant Learning Guides.
Participate in review, revision, and sign-off cycles.
Conduct train-the-trainer sessions and field training delivery, and track and report on the efficacy of that training.
Conceptualize and develop evaluation measures, including knowledge checks, course evaluations, and tests.
Assist with the development and distribution of operational communications.
Build and maintain customer relationships by consistently delivering exceptional content, delivery, and service.
All other duties as assigned.
Be able to work cross functionally with our internal and external resources in order to develop project deliverables.
Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
Utilize platforms such as: Asana, Basecamp 2 and 3, Teams, Dropbox, Slack, etc.
