Job Description

Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking an Equipment Sales Representative I for our Lakeville, Minnesota, Fort Wayne, Indianna, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Dallas, Texas, Des Moines, Iowa, Birmingham, Alabama or Las Vegas Nevada Branch.

Job Summary:

The Equipment Sales Representative I will be responsible for increasing equipment sales into both existing and new Midwest accounts. The role will cultivate networks and relationships within assigned accounts and partner vendors’ management to drive sales growth.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide equipment quotes and information to close sales.
  • Contact equipment vendors for equipment information and price lists as needed during the sales process. Order equipment drop ships and key in equipment orders from all branches.
  • Process equipment returns, RGA’s and vendor repair requests.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment pricing in the AS400 computer system as needed during the sales process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Veterinary technician education is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience within the veterinary industry is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of veterinary hospital equipment desired.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Basic understanding of the sales process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, ability to operate a Windows-based computer and data entry.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and problem solve.

Mental & Physical Demands:

  • Attention to detail critical to ensure order accuracy.
  • Regular interaction with people, team-player.
  • Fast pace of work, requires multi-tasking, etc.
  • Vision: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds of equipment.
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs, balance, stand/walk on concrete floor for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of a telephone – listening and speaking.
  • Ability to work at a desk throughout the day.
  • Frequent use of hands for writing and computer keyboard, etc.

Equipment Used:

Regularly uses typical office equipment including computer keyboard and terminal, telephone, printer, fax and copier.

Work Environment:

Work will typically be performed indoors in a temperature-controlled office environment where moderate heat, cold or humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected in a warehouse environment. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday and may include overtime.
