AC Power Technician / Journeyman Electrician

Journeyman Electrican Position Overview:

Journeyman Electrician are responsible for the installation and repair of electrical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and various electronic components as well as the installation of commercial power wire to cellular sites, installation of conduit and telephone wire, and installation of back-up generators. This indidual will be traveling up to a week at a time unless otherwise approved between various customer sites. The Journeyman Electrician shall at all times uphold the foundational goals of MUTI, "Client Service, Quality, and Safety" to enhance the integrity for which the organization has become known. This position requires travel across the Southeast.

Journeyman Electrican Essential Job Duties:

  • Ability to work with AC current, mostly low voltage
  • Generator Install/Wiring
  • Trenching to install conduits and grounding
  • Installing power supply wiring and conduit such as: EMT, O-CAL, Rigid conduit, MC cable, strut, cable trays
  • Troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems such as: switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, CT cabinets, conveyor systems, lighting, and power supplies
  • Maintaining current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
  • Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
  • Inspecting systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
  • Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
  • Ability to install and bend rigid conduit
  • Complete all necessary safety training provided by MUTI
  • Complete all necessary technical training provided by MUTI
  • At all times, maintain safe work practices as outlined in the MUTI Safety Manual, as well as other safety and quality directives issued by Management
  • Read and understand general MUTI project and safety documents
  • Operate hand and power tools
  • Operate trucks, trailers, and other equipment
  • Climbing platforms up to 25 feet

Journeyman Electrician Qualifications/ Job Requirements:

  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
  • Experience as a Journeyman Electrician or 2 to 3 years as an Apprentice Electrician
  • Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems
  • Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by our client
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism
  • Medical and physical ability to perform duties of the position
  • Ability to travel (company vehicle provided)
  • Ability to communicate fluently with superiors and subordinates
  • Ability to learn from various instruction methods, as well as self-study
  • Ability to read and understand general job related documents
  • Electrical license
