Job DescriptionMidtown Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center serving Northeast Nebraska is looking to immediately fill openings for bilingual Health Aids.Priority will be given to applicants who are bilingual (proficiency in English and Spanish). Wage differential offered to successful bilingual candidate.Midtown Health Center offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision insurances, 401(k), paid time off and more.General SummaryThe Health Aid works as part of the medical office team and performs clinical and clerical duties under the general supervision of the licensed nursing personnel and primary care providers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides clinical services. Welcomes patients by greeting them in person.
Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; provides examination gowns and drapes; helps patients to position themselves... for the examination and/or treatment; arranges examining room instruments, supplies and equipment. Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviews and/or records medical history; take vital signs; and confirms the purpose of the visit or treatment.
Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; and other assigned clinical duties. Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results. Initiates referrals to other sources of health care as necessary.
Assists in maintaining an efficient, safe, secure, orderly, and aseptic environment of care for all patients and employees. Prepares and assures patient rooms are stocked and prepared for general exams. Assists licensed nursing staff in inventory and purchase of medical supplies.
Establishes, utilizes, and maintains a complete office operation that includes the comprehensive filing system of correspondence, patient records, and inventory. Translates for nurses and primary care providers verbally and in written materials. Other duties as assigned.Duties 1 through 6 are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed in this job.
All other job duties are secondary functions.Qualifications: Training and Education High school diploma required. Certified Nursing Assistant certification is preferred.Qualifications: Experience Two years of experience in a medical office or related experience preferred.Qualifications: Licensure/Certification Must have a valid Nebraska driver's license and provide proof of personal driver's insurance and the ability to utilize own transportation for work purposes.
