Job Description Mid Continent Controls is looking for an experienced Electronics Assembler for a full-time position at our facility in Derby, KS. Under the direct supervision of the Production Manager, the Assembler performs manual work pertaining to the manufacture of our proprietary electronic products. Job Functions: Essential: · Solders electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) via hand. · Reads manufacturing documentation such as blueprints, process sheets and assembly and schematic drawings, receives written and verbal instructions regarding work assignment, and follows instructions. · Modify plastic parts to properly fit final product. · Enters information on production records, logs or in electronic information database. · Performs PCB and wire harness assembly at various build stages of products. · Performs visual and microscopic self-inspection of work. · Uses assorted hand tools to perform assembly of products. Marginal: · Examines electronic components and PCBs for defects such as pinholes or chips. · Repairs own defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel. · Measures and cuts wires and to build wire harnesses, following written and verbal instructions. · Experience in operating solder paste machine, automated pick-n-place machine, and re-flow oven. · Cuts printed circuit boards and grinds corners, following build instructions. · Performs other duties as deemed necessary or as required by supervision. Job Qualifications: Experience: At least 1 year experience in electronics assembly with demonstrated soldering skills (including both surface mount and through hole components) and demonstrated skills in final electronic assembly, or a related field is required. Employee is expected to acquire the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within 90 days. Skills: Skills expected include demonstrated soldering skills (including both surface mount and through hole components).
Ability to read engineering blueprints and manufacturing documentation. Knowledge of electronic assembly. Ability to perform self-inspection of work.
Working knowledge of microscopes, multi-meters, and measuring tools such as rulers and calipers.
