We are an independent, full-service property & casualty insurance agency serving customers with both personal and business insurance. Locally owned and operated in Laurel, MD, we provide insurance to clients using a service oriented approach. Our mission is to foster a constant and dedicated focus toward earning and keeping our position as one of the fastest growing independent insurance agencies in our local market area.
We are seeking an experienced customer service representative. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining solid customer relationships by handling customer inquiries and concerns with speed and professionalism. The candidate will interact daily with customers, insurance carriers, and in-house agents.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the insurance industry and possess superior customer service skills. The candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
We are offering a $1,000 signing bonus for this hybrid work opportunity.
The candidate must:
Answer customer calls or respond to correspondence regarding new and existing insurance policies and insurance claims
Confer with customers to provide detailed information about products and services, quote new business applications, and be a front-line underwriter
Resolve product or service issues by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the issue; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the issue; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution
Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries and comments, as well as actions taken
Assist with quoting and sales of new or additional services or products
Display a positive, helpful attitude to help create a friendly environment for clients and co-workers
Ensure the growth of the business and be committed to the company’s success
The ideal candidate will:
Have a minimum of two years customer service experience in the insurance industry; Maryland Property & Casualty License required
Hold a high school diploma or GED
Demonstrate strong customer focus and an excellent phone manner
Have the ability to handle difficult customer phone calls and solve complex problems while remaining calm and professional
Have strong attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and follow up skills
Demonstrate superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Be a quick learner with a strong work ethic
Thrive in a team environment and be a positive team player
Have technology and computer proficiency
