The Azure Global Presence team is looking for a Technical Principal Program Manager to lead our expansion of Azure in Germany & Switzerland. You will partner closely with engineering, infrastructure and field teams including subsidiary leaders to define and execute the strategies that will maximize the adoption of Azure in a specific country or region. You will be responsible for programmatically removing engineering blockers to foster growth in the consumption of Azure services and unlock new market opportunities. By connecting your technical experience, along with our customers’ vision and challenges directly to the engineering product teams, you will help ensure Azure is the most compelling solution for tier one workloads.

Define country-relevant priorities for Engineering investments and infrastructure to maximize utilization of Azure. This includes the definition and execution of infrastructure strategies, as well as tailored engineering-led programs and GTM motions to remove technical constraints, unblock customer adoption and enable new markets through Azure and related Microsoft technologies.

Optimise Azure infrastructure relevant to the unique local market needs, the Country Engineering lead will capture and signal platform & data centre priorities to Engineering that enable Germany & Switzerland’s potential. This includes the acceleration demand-driven service requirements, the signalling of customer-centric platform requirements and removal of engineering obstacles.
Engage directly with key customers and partners up to the CXO level, supporting partnerships and opportunities with top tier customers, whilst also driving large strategic and complex projects. Additionally, the successful candidate will establish partnerships and a unified operating model with the local subsidiary and provide transparency and situational awareness of Engineering priorities through regular engagement and reporting.
Be accountable for the overall success of the Germany & Switzerland Azure Global Presence plan through specific OKRs like usage, ACR, product feedback, blockers removed, new customers onboarded. The QB will also be responsible for driving innovation and move upstream, whilst creating a sustainable operational environmentQualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- 5+ years in an engineering role as an architect or technical program manager
- Experience in cloud-scale solution architecture or software development
- Knowledge of the Azure platform and infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to drive large, complex programs and solutions that deliver high quality outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal and group dynamic skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of business and technology-related strategy
- Track record of high-quality, autonomous and execution of tasks
- Demonstrated systematic attention to detail
- 10+ years in an engineering role as an architect or technical program manager
- Data centre infrastructure planning and architecture experience
- Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
