Job Description

Microchip Frequency & Time Systems (FTS) provides world-class timing solutions and sets the world's standard for time. FTS generates, distributes and applies precise time for telecom, wireless, aerospace/defense, IT infrastructure and metrology industries. FTS's customers, from telecom service providers and network equipment manufacturers to governments and their suppliers worldwide, are able to build more reliable networks and systems by using the company's advanced timing technologies, atomic clocks, services and solutions.

Microchip FTS, with locations in Beverly, MA, San Jose, CA, and Boulder, CO, is considering candidates for a Senior Manager - Global Services/World Wide TechnicalSupport.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will manage a worldwide team of Technical Support Engineers and Field Services Engineers. Our technical support resources are based in San Jose (CA), Santa Rosa (CA), Beverly (MA), Munich (Germany), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Wellington (NZ).

As leader of the Global Services team, you are looked to for guidance and direction by all technical support and services personnel in Microchips Frequency and Time Systems business unit. Your job is to lead, coach, mentor, and influence your team to provide exceptional technical support and service quality, attain business unit goals, and ultimate Microchip Corporate goals while aligning to the Microchip Guiding values. You will be responsible for managing the P&L of a $14M services business comprised of contract support services, training, field engineering and installation. You will also oversee the quoting process for engineering and installation services and provide revenue guidance to business unit leadership.

Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 to 7 years experience managing teams preferable worldwide.
  • One to two years experience in working within a CRM system/environment.
  • Effective communication skills (writing and speaking) and readiness to lead Phone or Web-based Conference Calls or customer meetings.
  • Knowledge of Microchip FTS products, how to install test, turn-up and commission.
  • Knowledge on trouble shooting Microchip FTS products.
  • Knowledge of Telco Central Offices and Telco installation standards.
