Sr. Data Lake Architect

MicroHealth is seeking Sr. Data Lake Architect to lead the strategy, architecture design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex data platform, data management systems and solutions.
This position will support our effort providing services in the areas of software applications development and maintenance support, SharePoint development and maintenance, database development, maintenance and management, application end user support, information delivery solutions and support, desktop, mobile device support for development activities, security certification support, configuration management and documentation support.
This is a planned position.
Background Investigation: Upon hire for this role- Contract employees who provide support in Low Risk positions must have undergone a minimum of a Tier 1/NACI (National Agency Check and Inquiries) level background investigation within the last 10 years; or otherwise be the subject of a favorable US Secret Service controlled Tier 1/NACI background investigation. Contract employees who provide support in Moderate or High positions must have undergone a minimum of a Tier 4a/BI (Background Investigation) level background investigation within the last 5 years; or otherwise be the subject of a favorable US Secret Service controlled Tier 4a/BI background investigation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The senior level data lake architect will provide the technology roadmap for enabling and supporting a concrete enterprise data lake strategy. This resource will be responsible for documenting the data lake architectural model and views that show how the current and future needs of the organization will be met with a successfully design data lake solution.
- Provides all activities related to the administration of data lake servers.
- Lead Architecture, design and implementation of Data Lake, Data Platform and Big Data Infrastructure
- Create and provide data environments and/or data sets to serve a wide range of data users, including but not limited to Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and Business Analysts.
- Define and Develop tools and procedures to monitor performance and health of all data platforms and systems.
- Author complex extract, transform and load (ETL) scripts for moving and curating data into data sets for storage and use by a Data Lake, data warehouse and Data Mart.
- Perform Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution and defined SLAs as per enterprise needs
- Lead building of distributed, scalable, and reliable Big Data and Enterprise data pipelines that ingest and process data at scale and in real-time.
- Must be able to manage, build, administer, develop, test or demonstrate the capabilities of the data lake environment.
- Must be able to perform many data lake administrative functions across multiple servers that uses the Microservices Architecture.
- Must be able to define standards and techniques to guide architecture solution decisions for microservices architecture.
- Must be able to provide data lake solutions that are built for performance, fault tolerance and security to ensure
- quality data is being ingested and utilized
- Must have extensive Python experience and capabilities to create Bash/shell scripts
- Must be able to provide senior level knowledge to support Solr, Apache Spark, Minio, Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL, Redis, Presto, Prometheus, React, and Nginx
- Will support a large Micro Services clustered environment with experience in adding and removing nodes, configure and tune the clusters and monitor the environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 10 years of professional experience as a senior data architect or principal data architect in large enterprises
- Minimum of 15 years of experience as a technology leader designing and developing data modeling with a minimum of 7 of those years specializing in big data architecture or data analytics
- Strong, in-depth experience in data modeling and experience with business intelligence systems
- Broad based architecture acumen: Database architecture, ETL, SOA, Cloud, etc
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas, regardless of the technical capacity of the audience
- Ability to set strategic direction and to convert strategy to execution
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
