REMOTE to start. Local required. Once the restrictions are lifted, this will be onsite majority of time

Systems Engineer II
This position is responsible for the development, planning and support of a medical center's enterprise-wide technical architecture and infrastructure, which includes the integration of hardware, systems software and network technologies.
JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the implementation and administration of technologies that support the organization
  • Participates in the architecture and design phases of technology solution development
  • Acts as an escalation for system monitoring of the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation of deployed technologies; including design, as-built, troubleshooting, and administration
  • Management of servers – including Microsoft infrastructure, application, printing, and backup servers - and associated operating systems and applications
  • Responsible for the design and management of data and system backup and recovery solutions
  • Completes incident and service requests to ensure timely and effective support
  • Reviews open work orders/tasks to ensure staff are receiving appropriate support
  • Acts as an escalation for the Service Desk, Systems Administrators, and other Systems Engineers
  • Assists in the support infrastructure of a 24/7/365 environment including scheduled, on-call, and emergency response support
  • Diagnoses problems and executes solutions with minimal interruption to basic service requirements
  • Supports all software installations
  • Coordinates, assists and partners with internal and external technical personnel for issue resolution and work-order fulfillment
  • Software and Service Ownership: May own Application(s); responsible and accountable for application's performance, development, maintenance, and user-functionality and availability
  • Works Independently and within a team environment; with minimal supervision, and increased independent authority
  • Routinely designated as a project's Technical Lead or Technical Owner
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education/Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience in a systems administrator or systems engineer role
  • Demonstration of suitability through combination of experience, and education in the Information Technology and/or equivalent years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve a diverse range of complex problems
  • Technical Skills: Should be able to demonstrate excellent technical and computer skills and knowledgeable in modern technology and services.
  • Demonstrated advanced Customer Service skills
  • Team Collaboration: Should be able to successfully work independently and within a multi-team environment
  • Problem-solving Skills: Should be able to devise technical and creative solutions for Users issues, will assist others with same
  • Time Management: Should be able to set priorities when handling multiple issues
  • Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities
  • Knowledge of PC hardware

SUPPORT SERVICES - STAFFING SOLUTIONS

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of VMware, CITRIX technologies and Virtual Desk Infrastructure VDI
  • Ability to construct scripts in common languages (PowerShell, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
  • Preferred License/Certifications
  • Microsoft MCSA
  • Microsoft MCSE
  • At least one of these advanced certifications:
  • Red Hat RHCSA (Certified Administrator)
  • Citrix Certified Associate or Professional – Virtualization (CCA-V or CCP-V)
  • VMware Virtual Certified Associate or Professional (VCA or VCP)
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNE (or similar level certification in other disciplines)
  • A+
  • Network+
  • Security+

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent 5 years of experience
  • 8+ years of experience with IT solutions; PC, server, and infrastructure technologies (e.g., Client, Konica, Cisco, etc.)
  • 8+ years of experience working with hardware and software systems
  • 8+ years demonstrated successful Customer Service experience
  • 4+ year of experience with vendor management and vendor relationships
  • 4+ years of experience with Inventory/resource management
  • Prior experience with healthcare information systems

Advanced knowledge of device and network security principles and tools including antivirus and anti-malware solutions
