Job Description

Essential Functions of Role:

Following the organizational mission, this leadership role has responsibility for all Shipping and Receiving related activities. This “hands on” leadership role requires meeting USDA and Company standards. The Shipping/Receiving Manager will be primarily responsible for the management and oversight of the inventory, shipping and receiving functions of products at the Chicago Drive, Hall Street and off-site storage locations. This position will lead and direct the supervisory staff and work activities influencing all shifts in the assigned areas. This position will also oversee the plant-to-plant shuttle process. This position will be functionally familiar with all other activities within the logistics department. Other activities when assigned.

·Direct and guide department associates to include the monitoring of performance standards.

·Identify the developmental needs of the area associates to enhance their knowledge and skills to achieve the established performance standards.

·Encourage and develop a spirit of teamwork and cooperation for the overall benefit of both the associates and the company.

·Monitor, train and regulate the safe work practices of the associates.

·Monitor and regulate the safe working condition of the equipment and facilities.

·Allocate resources to meet departmental needs as necessary.

·Communicate and coordinate with other department and company personnel to most effectively provide the needed services of the shipping and receiving functions to the company and MTP customers.

·Must be willing and able to work different shifts and weekends as needed.

·Become proficient in the export process for finished goods.

·Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory personnel.

·Develop and document standard operating procedures for receiving, shipping, material handling, storing, and salvaging products or materials.

Accountable for:

As a member of the logistics team reporting to the Senior Logistics Manager this role will have principal ownership responsible for driving/implementing cost measures to support business goals with emphasis on the organizations 2nd shift warehouse teams. Warehouse, shipping and receiving activities to service our customers, both internal and external. Cross-functional collaboration between Shipping, Warehouse, Plant Operations and Sales teams. Hiring and termination.

Your Education and/or Background Experience will have:

·High School Graduate, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

·Three to five years warehouse management experience.

·Proficient and understands warehouse management systems, data analysis tools, namely Excel and Word, WMS as well as internal data systems.

Physical Qualifications:

·Must be able to physically perform the essential functions of the position as outlined

·Must be able to work for prolonged periods in refrigerated and frozen environments

·Must be able to twist, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. for an extended period of time

·Must be able to safely operate an Industrial Lift Truck
