Our client is a non-automotive company that is rapidly growing. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Operations to join their dynamic and energetic team.


Job Description:

The Director of Operations reports to the Chief Operating Officer and requires management of multiple different departments and streamlining interdependencies towards operational and company goals. They must be able to oversee the production of a high-quality product delivered in a timely manner and that meets the expectations of our customers. They need to be able to set goals and create metrics in line with our company direction. They need to be a self-starter, innovative, and flexible. Finally, the need to keep an energetic goal-driven team-dynamic and ensure we have optimized processes and procedures and centrally focus on continuous improvement.

Job Duties:

• Oversee and manage production, purchasing, logistics, warehouse, and engineering

• Oversee quality (assurance), 5S, and safety processes

• Maximize efficiency, productivity and streamline processes

• Work with Sales and Tech to provide feedback on quality issues, production schedule, and delivery timeline

• Manage inventory control and accuracy of inventory levels and locations

• Work with Controller to conduct analysis of cost-efficiency and department controls

• Manage appropriate levels of ERP system to ensure accuracy and continuous improvement

• Oversee the maintenance of a clean environment

• Communicate and align with peers and colleagues in the Dutch head office and manufacturing plant

• Develop strategic plans for operational activity, changes, and growth

• Create and develop metrics in line with overall set goals, root-cause, and corrective action

• Establish a friendly, team-oriented environment and lead conflict-resolution within department

• Engage, coach and motivate others


• Bachelor’s degree in business or higher

• 5 years of experience as a Director of Operations managing multiple departments

• 10 years of experience working in operations

• Experience in a (small) manufacturing environment preferred; assembly of multi component equipment

• Experience leading metrics, results, and continuous improvement

• Knowledge of HR practices and principles with a development mindset

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Proficiency in an ERP and Inventory Management System

• A flexible work schedule; ability to work afterhours/weekends in as needed basis

• Occasional travelling overseas
