Job Description

Background:

Metric5 is currently seeking a Network Administrator to join a growing team on an exciting opportunity with our DoD client.

Our Network Administrator will assist the Government in the acquisition, development, implementation, and operation of a worldwide layer 3 virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) mission network that integrates non-VRF capable installations and networks as required via virtual private network(s) (VPNs). 

You will verify and validate the products and solutions being provided to, and developed for PMO DCO meet or exceed the specified cybersecurity and operational requirements. You will develop and recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probes as driven by requirements and operational exigencies. You will identify complex networking problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions; analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. 

A successful candidate will have hands-on experience as a Network Administrator  in a DoD or other Federal Government Agency IT environment working with acquisition projects.

Required Experience:

  • 10 + years of relevant experience
  • Develop conceptual, logical, or physical network designs
  • Coordinate network or design activities with designers of associated/interfacing/integrating networks
  • Monitor and analyze network performance and report on data input or output to detect problems, identify inefficient use of computer resources, and/or perform capacity planning and recommend changes to improve the network, infrastructure or information systems
  • Analyze data to identify or resolve operational problems. Envelop computer or information security policies or procedures
  • Perform market research to identify new or improved solutions to PM DCO requirement
  • Maintain and develop disaster recovery plans
  • Identify complex networking problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project
  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Top Secret level security clearance required

Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Security+ CE or CISSP and Red Hat, CCDP or equivalent networking certification, additional desired experience in any of the following areas:  DISA Infrastructure STIGs, Army and DoD Regulations
  • Experience working in a PMO
  • Experience as a contractor or federal employee with DoD

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field

Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience or more

Clearance: Must be a United States Citizen and hold a Top Secret Clearance (or higher)

Travel: Flexibility, ability, and willingness to travel a minimum of 10%
