VP/Senior Process Engineer

Job Description

 

The Senior Process Engineer supports Operations and is responsible for leading process improvement project (s) that span across one or more products. Manage resources, schedules, and financials and adhere to regulatory compliance and customer experience expectations. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Lead process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving OKR’s.

The Senior Process Engineer has the authority run projects and vendor oversight on a day-to-day basis. Verify that the projects and processes produce the required results defined by the business cases that they have created.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of project management experience, including design and planning projects

  • 10+ years of consumer banking experience, preferably a focus on collections, specialty operations, and recovery

  • 10+ years of direct operations experience at a financial institution

  • 5+ years of previous experience with creating and executing business requirements and process design

  • Proven experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM,

  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence

  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives

  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands

  • Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results

  • Tools: MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; JIRA/Confluence; Pega; advanced proficiency in banking and recovery systems

  • Experience in vendor oversight

  • Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary

  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule and within budget close

  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance

  • Strong experience presenting and gaining buy-in from executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management

  • Team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff

  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple products

  • Provide leadership by building and motivating cross-functional stakeholders to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones

  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives

  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities using JIRA

  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence

  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, procedures, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization

  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project

  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes

  • Manage the day-to-day project/process activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings

  • Monitor project and process performance and complete performance reviews

  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership

  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs

  • Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices

  • Manage project scope and changes

  • Drive root cause analysis, solution activities, and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders

  • Act as an internal quality control check for the project and assigned processes

  • Manage ongoing UAT and participate in issue resolution

  • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues

  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, SVP, and key stakeholders

  • Vendor and tool oversight:

  • Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested goods and services, as applicable

  • Own processes to ensure that service levels and contractual obligations are maintained

  • Document, root cause and remediate breakages

  • Compliant with Laws & Regulation.
