Merrick Bank, a leading and profitable national consumer lender specializing in the non‐prime segment has an immediate opening for a Risk Control Governance Manager.
The position is responsible for the development, monitoring and management of the risks, controls and risk framework for the Credit Operations and Credit Risk Management business lines.
This includes ensuring the controls and monitoring adhere to existing policies and standards, regulatory requirements, and best business practices.
This will involve extensive coordination with various operating groups, including Internal/External Audit, Regulatory Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and executive leadership.
Requires Skills, Abilities, Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Process Control Engineering, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience.
5+ years’ experience with risk management, risk control, audit or compliance.
Experience with RSA Archer, SAS, or SQL or related database and analytical software.
Excellent problem and critical thinking skills, interpersonal and verbal/written presentation skills, and time management skills.
Evaluate and assess the framework for credit risk management and credit operational risks and identify gaps in controls and/or monitoring.
Create standardized guidelines for implementing risk controls and monitoring across product lines and operating units using RSA Archer.
Review and enhance key risk indicators and related reporting.
Coordinate root cause analysis for failed controls and develop enhanced controls.
Develop monitoring reporting framework
