Meridian Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina. ACTT is an evidence-based wrap-around model of care that supports individuals with severe and persistent mental illness to improve their overall well-being while remaining in community living. The ACTT Nurse is responsible for assessing physical needs; making appropriate referrals to community physicians; providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist. The ACTT nurse is also responsible for providing a range of treatment, rehabilitation and support services including general and condition-specific health education, medication education, and psychiatric rehabilitation.
Applicants must have:
- a current Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse - RN or LPN license in NC,
- a valid driver's license without violations or restrictions which could prevent completing all required job functions,
- reliable transportation, and flexibility and moderate computer skills.
Our offices in Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Transylvania, and Cherokee Counties are surrounded by camping and hiking trails and waters ripe for kayaking, swimming, and fishing. This area of the state is known for its beautiful scenery, artisan breweries, outdoor activities, and lots of festivals! There is even a small ski resort in Meridian’s service area.
